How to make a radar chart video for player stats
A radar chart video compares two sets of scores on the same attributes. Add at least three attributes to VideoMason’s Stat radar format, enter both values for each, and set a shared maximum so the two shapes use the same scale.

Choose attributes that can share a scale
A player rating of 80 out of 100 can share an axis system with another rating out of 100. Raw goals, passes and minutes have different units; putting them straight onto one 0-to-100 radar would make the comparison misleading.
If you normalise raw stats into ratings, explain the method and comparison group. Keep the underlying measurements in your source table so someone can reproduce the scores. A large shape by itself is not evidence that one player is better overall.
Build the comparison
- Open Stat radar and name the two players or teams.
- Add the same attributes for both sides, with at least three axes.
- Set the maximum value and confirm that every entered score fits the intended scale.
- Choose distinct colours, preview the labels, and export the comparison in landscape or vertical size.
Example ratings for checking your layout
These invented scores use a common 100-point scale. They are layout examples, not ratings of real players.
| Attribute | Player A | Player B |
|---|---|---|
| Pace | 88 | 94 |
| Finishing | 92 | 85 |
| Passing | 71 | 86 |
| Strength | 90 | 74 |
Match the data to the claim
Use the same season, competition and measurement window for both sides. Per-90-minute stats can help compare players with different playing time, but make that transformation visible.
The supported TheSportsDB event feed can provide team statistics for a match. Availability depends on the event and provider. Check the imported attributes and their units before using a shared radar scale.

Common questions
Can I compare products with a radar chart?
Yes, if their attributes use a comparable scoring system. Use a versus comparison when you need to show raw values with different units.
Does the chart calculate a winner?
The radar displays the values you enter. Define and explain any overall scoring rule separately.
